I'm Dr. Kyle Jones, the medical physicist behind KJMedPhys. I'm certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Medical Physics and have 21 years of experience supporting medical imaging programs. For the last four years I served as chair of the American College of Radiology Dose Index Registry, and I now chair the American College of Radiology National Radiology Data Registry.

Background

I have worked as a clinical medical physicist for 21 years and have become one of the world's foremost experts on radiation management in fluoroscopy and CT. As the chair of the ACR DIR and now the NRDR, I help healthcare organizations organize and act on the data produced by their medical imaging devices.

I am a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR). I have been elected a Fellow of all three, and I am the physics editor for the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Read more about me in my CV.

Why I started KJMedPhys

I understand the imaging science, informatics, data systems, image acquisition and reconstruction, and medical physics aspects of radiology, and how they can be optimized to fairly and critically commission and monitor radiology AI tools and to provide actionable practice insights. I can help sites start participating in radiology registries, or maximize their registry participation and feedback if they already participate.

KJMedPhys provides this expertise in a focused, practical form: analysis grounded in your own data, recommendations you can act on, and documentation your team can keep using.
